Don't be afraid!

Fearful? Afraid? At the transfiguration--where we see Jesus shining in heavenly glory, chatting with Moses and Elijah, and hear a voice from heaven speaking--Peter, James, and John fall to the ground, “terrified.” This reminds me of Rev 1:17 where John sees the glorified Son of Man and falls on his face “like dead.” Both times Jesus reaches down, touches them and says, “Don’t be afraid.”

If you are struggling with fear right now can you pause and hear the voice of Jesus reaching out to you, saying, “Don’t be afraid.”

My friend, *you are not alone.* God sees you and loves you. In Heb 13:6 it says, “So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?’” and 1 Jn 4:18 tells us, “There is no fear in love. But perfect [Agape] love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in [Agape] love.

A prayer for you: Lord, I pray over this one reading this, that you reveal to them that they are not alone, that you see them and love them. Please show this one what Your Agape love is--that you have always loved them and always will, no matter what they have done or what was done to them. Please take all fear and anxiety away from this one. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
